In this video I'm gonna show you how I made nearly a million dollars on a simple content website, and I'm gonna break down everything I did so you can apply the same techniques to your own website.
My name is Matt Diggity, and I'm the CEO of Leadspring. An agency that's completely focused on building, ranking and eventually flipping affiliate websites.
In September of 2018, Leadspring purchased a small content site for $15,811. With respect for the buyer, I can't reveal the exact niche, but the overall category is health.
Here's a graph showing the earnings over time. We started off at absolute newbie earning levels. In about five months, the site broke through the $1,000 per month threshold. And at about 15 months, it broke through $10,000 per month. Eventually, it broke $20,000 per month.
In terms of how much I invested in the site, we ended up writing about 300 pieces of content for a total of $21,500. I also built about a thousand links whose costs added up to about $20.5K. So, our grand investment total is the cost we paid for the site plus the content and the link fees was nearly $58,000.
But on April 9th, I sold the website for $625,000, two and a half years after I bought it. But remember up until that point, I'd been collecting affiliate commissions that whole time which were paying for all the costs as the site grew. $282,513 in affiliate commissions to be precise, for a grand earning total of $908,000.
If we take the grand total and divide it by the amount invested, that's a 1,468% return.
